What we store, and for how long

We keep two things: The temporary address you are given, and the messages that arrive for it. That is it. We hold them just long enough to show them in your inbox. There is no sign-up, no name, and no personal details asked. You do not hand over anything about yourself to use the tool.

The reason we store messages is simple: we cannot show an email without holding a copy. The visible inbox is short-lived, but its timer controls browser access rather than proving that every backend copy is erased at that exact second. Scheduled cleanup handles final removal under the retention policy.

Current retention limits: free incoming messages are removed after at most 3 days, unclaimed temporary-address records after at most 7 days, and messages you manually remove may remain marked for deletion for up to 7 days. These limits come from the live service configuration.

Inbox expiry and backend cleanup

When the inbox timer runs out, that browser session can no longer open or receive mail at the old inbox. Free messages and unclaimed temporary addresses are then removed by scheduled cleanup. TempMail.now is not a permanent archive, but the timer and final backend deletion are separate events.

Server logs and your IP

We want to be straight here. Like nearly every website, our servers keep basic logs, and those logs can include an IP address. We are not going to tell you we run zero logs or never see your IP, because that would not be true.

Ads, cookies, and your consent

This tool is free, and light ads are how we keep it that way. To be clear about the trade-off, here is how ads work on the site and what they can and cannot touch.
