What you can test
A disposable inbox is useful for functional checks: did the application send the right message, did it arrive, and does the user-facing action work? Use it for isolated test accounts that do not need long-term recovery.

- Rendered subject lines, text, and HTML content
- Links, buttons, images, and downloadable attachments
- Welcome messages and other automated notifications
What this inbox does not test
Receipt in one temporary inbox is not a full deliverability audit. It does not prove that the same message will reach Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, corporate gateways, or spam folders in the same way. TempMail.now also does not currently expose the raw MIME source or authentication results for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
For authentication and cross-provider placement testing, use a dedicated email-testing platform or inspect the message in a mailbox that exposes raw headers. Use TempMail.now when you need a fast functional check of the user flow.
How to test an email flow
- Choose an inbox duration long enough to complete the test.
- Copy the temporary address into your application or staging form.
- Trigger the sign-up, reset, or notification message.
- Wait for the message, then open it and check its visible content.
- Follow the link or enter the code and confirm the application reaches the expected state.
- Repeat with a fresh address when the test needs a clean user.

Use a durable mailbox when recovery matters
A temporary address is intentionally short-lived. Do not attach it to a production account, paid subscription, customer record, or test environment that you may need to recover later. Use a controlled team mailbox or a dedicated testing service for persistent test identities.
